What does /24 mean?+
The number after the slash is the length of the network prefix in bits. An IPv4 /24 leaves 8 host bits and contains 256 addresses. In a conventional broadcast subnet, 254 are usable host addresses.
Does IPv6 have a broadcast address?+
No. IPv6 uses multicast for functions that often use broadcast in IPv4. Its 128-bit address space also makes individual networks much larger.
